I actively support my local library. Through a library system that spans multiple counties, I can borrow books from a large group of libraries, and I prefer physical books to electronic ones, for recreational reading, when I have time.

I too prefer physical books, magazines and newspapers to electronic ones.

I've become a fan of audiobooks. I listen to about one a week, on average.

Got another e-mail from my library today to let me know about RBDigital. My library membership now provides free access to the Acorn TV, Qello and IndieFlix streaming apps, and the RBDigital app acts as the authenticator.

Very cool. As you may know, Acorn offers a wealth of excellent British and Australian shows. Qello specializes in concert recordings. Wife and I enjoyed watching Cyndi Lauper and Adele earlier today.

Naturally Macmillan wants to increase its revenues, since that's what it does, and naturally the libraries want to increase public access to books, since that's what they do. I am part of the public, so it is obvious where my sympathies lie.
