Comparison of Transponder Data for 8/31/2016 vs 8/24/2016:

FEC ratio for Transponder on Net 11, TID 178 has changed from 2/3 to 1/2
FEC ratio for Transponder on Net 11, TID 179 has changed from 2/3 to 1/2
FEC ratio for Transponder on Net 14, TID 178 has changed from 2/3 to 1/2
FEC ratio for Transponder on Net 14, TID 179 has changed from 2/3 to 1/2

Changes to the use of defined transponders:

    1 Transponder placed in service:
    Net 11 TID 179 is a Spot Beam Transponder on D11 (99s), TPN 22 Beam A4B8

They also shuffled the stations being carried on Net 11 in the Minot DMA:
They cut the number of PIDs on Net 11, TID 178 from 6 to 4, moving two channels to TID 179 and adding a third test channel to TID 179.

    Total Change
    4K Live PIDS 3 +1
    4K Test Only 0 -1
    HD Live PIDS 1662 -9
    HD Test Only 16 +1
    SD Live PIDS 1560 +8
    SD Test Only 16 0
    3D PIDS 1 0
    Audio PIDs 114 0
    Slate PIDs 25 0
    Push PIDs 33 0
    Total PIDs 3430 0

    Total Change
    National Live HD PIDS = 238 0
    National Live Mpeg4 SD PIDS = 10 0
    National Live Mpeg2 SD PIDS = 420 -1
    LIL Live HD PIDS = 1424 -9
    LIL Live Mpeg4 SD PIDS = 132 +10
    LIL Live Mpeg2 SD PIDS = 998 -1

The shift of 9 LIL channels from HD classification to SD classification is due to DTV better documenting the Mpeg4 SD LIL channels.

More details will follow in Doctor J's analysis, and I have updated Post #1 and Post #3 in the Satellite Transponder Tables thread.

A table of transponder counts has been added to the PID count workbook, in the lower right corner of the "Totals" page.

It looks sort of like this:

    Transponder Counts
    Defined Used
    National Ku Transponders 40 39
    National Ka Transponders 55 52
    National RB Transponders 4 0
Spot Beam Ku Transponders 85 85
Spot Beam Ka Transponders 310 279
Spot Beam RB Transponders 0 0
