And I’m still wondering if they will use the spots on 101 for sub channels. Doubtful but you never know...

It wouldn’t shock me if their next sat was meant for 101 and mirrored everything and also was able to broadcast everything from one satelites instead of needing several at 101.

Oh it will absolutely have all 32 Ku transponders on it. The reason they needed more than one before was they couldn't generate enough power from the solar panels to handle 32 transponders. Now that can handle that and more. I'll bet it has 32 CONUS Ku transponders (like D15) though if they really wanted to make things interesting it could have 24 36 MHz wide Ku transponders. AFAIK there's no reason they have to stick with 24 MHz since they don't share 101...

If the new satellite is destined for 101 instead of moving D15 there and launching the new one for 103, I wonder whether it will have Ka transponders. They have that Ka license there, and would need the extra space if 4K really took off, though that's looking less and less likely IMHO.

Today's data exposed a bug in the program that creates the tpngrids. It has been repaired, and the TPN grids are up at Satellite Transponder Information

Weekly Analysis of the 7/18/2017 SKY_Mexico Data

The 8-Week Analysis Report shows all the changes since our last 5/18/17 data report. It appears we are watching the legacy Net 0 on IS21 slowly dwindle away as the new SKY_M1 is growing and expanding.

Edit 7/20: We are told that advertising is announcing that the old Network 0 / IS21 Product is going out of service by year end 2017. With that transition completed, SKY_Mexico will have no legacy MPEG2 receivers to worry about and all service will be provided by the current SKY_M1 and coming SKY_M2 satellites. That is a giant leap forward !!!

Needless to say for the LA market which is mine, I wonder what is local channel "!KNBC" testing all about?
